Doing Miles2022-10-02T19:04:23-07:00

We, Amy and James, have benefited greatly from reading backpacking trip reports and have published this site to return the favor. DoingMiles is about our human-powered travels: we hike frequently, bike occasionally, and have taken one long canoe trip.

Our reports are categorized under the Trip Reports menu item. We try to focus on essential information that might be helpful for others considering one of our trips. All reports include an interactive route map, a list of trip-planning resources, and our individual assessments of the route. When a route is not well described by other sources, we endeavor to provide additional information a future traveler could find useful.

We have a few articles about Techniques & Gear.

Help protect Bear’s Ears and Escalante Grand Staircase National Monuments. When you shop using these links to Amazon, CampSaver, Hyperlite Mountain Gear, Moosejaw, or REI, we receive a 4-10% commission which we donate to land conservation groups.  Since we started this site, we have donated all of our affiliate revenues to Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and Grand Canyon Trust.
